Case Studies - Dormer Conversion in County Durham
Mr & Mrs Graham from County Durham required additional space for there son who was fast out growing his existing bedroom. Having already added a ground floor extension they no longer wanted to loose any more space from there garden, so decided to ask Access Loft Conversions to explore the possibilities of converting there loft.
During the initial consultation it was clear that the space required was not achievable due to the hipped roof on all sides.
To gain access to the loft we explored the possibilities of adding a hip end dormer window which would give us sufficient head height to locate the staircase. After solving the problem of gaining access to the loft our clients were quick to agree that the best way to maximise the space in the proposed bedroom would be to install a flat dormer window to the rear. This was agreed and with the help off Access Loft Conversions the space in the loft conversion was maximised with additional space for an en-suite bathroom.
